PLEASE.......Remember to vote!!!!!!!!!
If you get it in the mail tomorrow morning, it should make it, but just to be safe, drop it off at your local drop box.
Politics don't matter, just cast your ballot!! Voting shouldn't be just a privilege...I consider it a responsibility. Pro-hatchery, anti-logging, whatever your feelings, please just vote!! Remember when our local eco-terrorist "Tre Arrow" ran for a Portland office?? He got over 3000 votes!! Probably mostly from people who have never voted in their lives, and never will again. At least they did it!
And please don't NOT vote, just because of the infamous wacko "Double Majority" measure. Making your choice by not voting is un-patriotic
My two-bit sermon for the day

Hand delivering our ballots on Monday. If you don't vote, you have no right to complain. I like to complain!!  Not really, I just like to keep that option open.

Re: PLEASE.......Remember to vote!!!!!!!!!
When you read the voters pamphlet be sure to look who these folks are indorsed by. Especially in the Non-partisan races. It will certainly give you a clue what direction they will take the office.
Vote and vote well. Remember, politicians are people that cannot hold down a regular job

Re: PLEASE.......Remember to vote!!!!!!!!!
I'm curious how folks would feel about a ballot measure to repeal the stupid double-majority ?
You know ... " (8) An election described in subsection (3), (4), (5)(c)(D), (7)(a) or (c) or (11) of this section shall authorize the matter upon which the election is being held only if:
(a) At least 50 percent of registered voters eligible to vote in the election cast a ballot; or
"
It's been a fun experiment, let's bring back democracy.

Re: PLEASE.......Remember to vote!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I voted. But I'm still on the fence about the Governor's race. I have these lofty ideals that I don't want to support mudslingers. All was well and good until the last three to four weeks when they all went to town. Voting for no one doesn't really send my message, "I hate nasty politics," very well. Where's our forum for this?

i think it has some merits.it keeps small groups from having special elections to a predetermand result.

Re: PLEASE.......Remember to vote!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you clackman, I like the double majority, if not enough people vote for it then you win when it comes to raising taxes. The double majority make it a bigger hill to climb when they try and raise our property taxes. I read a recent article that stated sometimes not voting at all is easier than voting no on tax measures.

Re: PLEASE.......Remember to vote!!!!!!!!!
Take part in the process or don't complain about the results!
My wife delivered our ballots to the local library this morning. Lots of signs: "Drop your ballot off here." Only one problem: the place was still closed. No problem. The enterprising local population simply slid their ballots through the crack between the double doors. The vestibule was filling up with ballots!
Vote-by-mail is a bit like fishing on a computer game or having *** with an inflatable girlfriend: not the same experience. :depressed:
I miss taking a toddler with me to a polling place and explaining to him why it's an important part of being an American.
