Introduction
Well, I decided to make my first post on this site an introduction. My name is Branson Phillips and I am origianally from Oklahoma and I moved to Eugene about three years ago. I really just got into steelhead/salmon fishing last year and have learned a lot through either great teachers or picking things up here and there through trial and error. I mainly fish three rivers around here, the Siuslaw River, the Middle Fork of the Willamette River and the McKenzie River (actually the first time I fished the McKenzie was on Sunday and landed two fish). The biggest steelhead I caught was a little over 35 inches and appproximately 19 pounds (caught it in April on the Middle Fork). I fish with Maxima fishing line, a Glen Wicks rod, and a Shimano Curado BSF. I don't have a drift boat yet, but I'm in the process of saving up for one now  . So for now, my Waterskeeter pontoon will have to do. I hope to learn a lot from you guys and maybe kick in a little information as well! Nice to meet you all.
Branson Phillips

Re: Introduction
It's ok to ignor BOE as he is still living his childhood dreams of owning Tillamook Cheeze  Go fishing with him though cause he can take you to the spots. Just don't expect him to catch anything .
Welcome to ya both. I-fish has a lot to offer and sometimes you "might" get some really good information. Here is your first tip. When fishing with BOE, fish from the port side of the boat. Seems the Starboard side has some kind of muffled vibration about every 5 minutes or so. Must be the cheeze!

Re: Introduction
Catchless and eat - Glad to see you on the board again, havent seen you around for a while. I didnt know you were out on work parole yet. I thought when the Judge said he was throwing away the key he meant it.  Those third strikes are kind of tough to overcome. I personally think bringing in several of the ifish crew in for character witnesses was your down fall at the trial. Your big plan fell apart when you didnt realize it was the prosecuting attorney not the defending attorney for the Seinfeld show that called all the character witnesses that put the cast in jail during the last show. Good plan for the other side though, to bad they didnt think about it.
I was sure you would forgive me for telling the reel truth. I guess Bib Bubba your cell mate changed your mind.

Re: Introduction
Welcome to ifish, both of you!
(even if you did fall into the wrong hands, right off the bat!)
Watch out for both these two boyz.
They be trouble.
One can't fish and the other can't catch.

Re: Introduction
I guess I did forget to mention that tad little detail. I moved out here to wrestle at the UofO. From the first moment I was here on my recruiting trip, I loved it (they took me steelhead/salmon fishin  ) and knew I wanted to be here. Well, now that I'm here, it's gonna be hard to go back. As for the wrestling aspect, I've had a tough and disappointing three years. First of all, I tore my ACL half-way through my senior season (but I toughed it out and finished undefeated) and they made me have reconstructive ACL surgery (surgery #2) after my repairative surgery didn't help (surgery #1). So, I spent my entire first year here rehabin' my knee. Then to make a long story short, I've also gotten hurt numerous times the last two years so I've seen minimal mat time... :depressed: Hopefully next year will go better!

Re: Introduction
That hurt Jen If you are going to throw punches below the belt restrict them to Catchless and Eat.  I am the sensitive type
I didnt know Oregon had a Wrestling Program Must be ran thru the Intermural Sports Program
Go Beavers!!!
PS. if you get any ducky support from STZII, dont believe it, he had his boat painted in Orange and Black supporting the Beavers. Catchless and Eat painted a mural of an Orca under his boat, I wonder why he cant get close to a salmon

Re: Introduction
Whoa whoa whoa. Who said we could have any more ducks on this board?
And OW, the beaver is actually classified as a furbearer and a proud furbearer at that. Only 3037 taken last year. Heck, I think just between my buddies and I, we got that many ducks last year. (I won't count Roy in this because we all know how his aim is)
Welcome to the board. I would second the idea of you keeping a low profile with that duck background. Seriously, watch out for BaitofEggo and Catch&Screech. I know they can't help the fishing and will probably end up hurting it. We on springer #2 yet this year Roy?

Re: Introduction
Welcome,
I too am a new member to this board...Well, actually I have been coming to this board for a while but just registered a little while back. I have gotten so much useful information off of this site I figured I should at least try to give some back  I spent most of my life (19 years) living in roseburg oregon. fishing for salmon and steelhead in the north umpqua and fishing for a little bit of everything up and down the umpqua and in many of the lakes around oregon. This board is great and there are a lot of really nice people here. enjoy yourself.

Re: Introduction
Welcome to both of you
Branson - why did you choose your name? I assume you did some wrestling along the way somewhere. I know Okalahoma has some mediocre wrestling? or was that Iowa, buckeyes or hawkeyes  with the better wrestling,... ... its all the same to me west of the Rockies. Glad your here.

Re: Introduction
Welcome to the club even if you’re a duck.
You’ll learn a lot from the group and if you stick around you’ll figure out who is all talk (crash&eat) and no action (bait o eggs).
Bait likes to think he knows a little about wraslin’ but the only thing he’s wrasled lately is a fire hose and a debit card.

Re: Introduction
Well, I'd say the new guy will do just fine around here
I can see it now, at next years jetty fishing trip, we can set up a ring and BOE and the wrestler can go best two out of three. FYI BOE was state champ some year way back when....

Don't be depressed and think that this board is dominated by furry flat tails!
After the year that Oregon just completed in football and basketball you can understand the jealousy coming from up North!
Welcome to Oregon and it is good to welcome another Duck!!!!!!!!!

Re: Introduction
Can't forget about the pretty good year we had in wrestling this year too...We took second at the Pac-10's (well ahead of the beavs) and if it weren't for some fluke matches that went in favor for Boise State, we woulda won it.
