Default Counterbalancing Oars?

How do I know if my oars need counterbalanced, and if so, how do I do it. I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I have had a couple people row my driftboat and complain about the weight of the oars. I've noticed it too, but just chalked it up to me being out of shape.

After reading a few posts that mentioned counterbalancing, I'm beginning to think this is something I may need to do.
