Default Fishing @ the zoo

'Fished at the ZOO sat, aka mid Willamette River. It brought back memories of stories told to me by OLDtimers, when I was just a pup. One of the favorite phrases they used was,"they were so thick, ya coulda walked across their backs!" They were refering to salmon  Well yesterday ya coulda walked across their backs, fisherpersons, not salmon
Why is it that the jerks, morons, idiots, and ***holes come out from under the rocks, off their bar stool, or get a day pass when the salmon are "in"?? I fish the rivers of Lane and Linn Co.s year round, and I see 99% of these "people" only in May and June.
It has gotten to be a game of out-thinking other fishermen, along with out-thinking the fish
We did both, to a small degree yesterday, with one 14 lb. springer

I think, if I owned a sporting goods store, a local gas station, restaurant, Stevens Marine, etc., I'd be very "happy" that you were miserable about all the people!!

By this, I mean I bet you realize what that type of fisherperson turnout on the water means to area businesses.

Catch 22 situation there, no doubt about it!!

M W Sheller, on nice days like yesterday and today...stay around the Swan Island area, The pleasure crafters are not concentrated in that area. Fish above the railroad bridge...salt pile...opening of Swan Island...and any vessel you can get close too without them YELLING at you,(security precautions) Watch out for barge traffic...they can sneak up on you and don't care too much. The Old Farts and a cute Italian gal have been doing well there.

Good luck,
