Default Fiberglass question

Does fiberglass become brittle over time? Such as sitting in a field in the sun for years.

I know where there is a drift boat that's been sitting in a field on a dead end street for who knows how many years. Looks like the blackberries are going to take it over soon.

Was just wondering if this would make it split or crack easier than a new one.

Default Re: Fiberglass question

yeah, it's probably cracked beyond repair. just tell me where it is and i'll go tell the owner to turn it into a planter.

fiberglass is susceptible to UV rays just like anything else. however, with a little love that boat may come back to life. chances are the trailer is a goner though. if they'll let it go, i'll bet it's cheap. and i'm in the market for a boat in need of love...
