Re: 42lber At Fishermans
Fishermans has the pictures and a story should be in the Oregonian tomorrow. It was caught in my friends boat and he netted it. I saw them fight and net it and witnessed the weigh in at Fishermans. It was 41lbs 4oz. on their scales. They took the fish to Tony's Seafood market and it was 42lbs even on a certified scale.

Re: 42lber At Fishermans
hey, was that the same old guys that pulled in beside Dave Johnson a few weeks ago down river on the Columbia.. The ones that didn't look to know a thing about springer fishing? Sometimes soon, It has to be my turn to be the blind squirrel. If it was our friend Glenn, he really does know what he is doing and is a very good fisherman.
What is the largest Springer ever caught in the Willamette? Could this be a State Record?
It only beats my largest springer by about 16 lbs.

Re: 42lber At Fishermans
Yep, the guy that went out with me was picking up a day tag and said he saw a 41 4 oz on the scale at Fisherman's. Needless to say he was pumped to hit the water.
No salmon for us , and 2 keepers for 6 boats in the line. SLOOOW evening.

Re: 42lber At Fishermans
No state record, not even close. I believe there was a 50+ caught on the Clack, by someone who posts on this board (or at least in their boat)!!

Re: 42lber At Fishermans
Terry Seamster caught a 52 lber on the clackamas up at high rocks some 20 years ago? I remember I was on my way to work and there was something said on the radio that a man named Terry caught a huge springer 52 lbs, they didn't mention his last name and I remember thinking it was a very good friend who name is also Terry  I knew he was fishing up there that morning. I could'nt wait to call him and congradulate him. Before I called I found out the last name was Seamster.
But I would be more then happy with a 42,32,22,12 you get the picture.

Re: 42lber At Fishermans
Don,
Without a doubt that was an amazing fish. I really liked Terry's version of events. Quite interesting to see his "take" on the matter and what is and isn't put in. It's a good fish story though.
