Default Regarding Water Ready Pontooons

I've had the pleasurable opportunity to do some test runs in Water Ready's 11 ft. one man pontoon boat. It handles like a dream. I have been running drift boats for over 40 years and have also owned a l4' raft for a time. This pontoon boat just "feels" stable and safe and is highly maneuverable. It has an ample floor for placing gear and rigging tackle, plus a rack for two rods, to be carried which is quite handy. The anchor system works efficiently, although the anchor originally supplied was of the wrong design to be used in rivers.

I substituted a l5# "animal anchor" which was perfect for this application. The Water Ready also has a rod holder for plugging which I found quite well designed and very convenient.

I wore waders while fishing in the Water Ready but would have been just fine in hip boots as I never was even slightly splashed in running the Kilchis. In a more technical river, such as the N. Fk. Nehalem from the hatchery, the waders might be more necessary but I certainly expect the Water Ready to handle such water with ease. The quality and workmanship is superior to other small pontoon craft I've been around. This is a perfect product for the person desiring a one man unit.

I have yet to try the 2 man, but look forward to it with anticipation!

Thanks to Water Ready for the opportunity to test run the cat!

Yes. I do believe, however, that the pontoon was given to me to try, Bill.

I do believe I have lost another chance at a boat...

New anchors are on the way! I use those particular anchors for the rentals that I have, so some won't get into trouble for anchoring in the wrong water. Should have known better to send it to a couple of pro's! Thanks and Happy Fishn'

That is a nice boat . I have done a lot of fishing and guideing on the DESCHUTES and that would be a blast on the DESCHUTES . YESTERDAY I WAS Bass FISHING ON THE WILLAMETE And saw a strange sight it was a very small catamaran much smaller than the one that you are in.The lenght would have been about 6-feet long . You might enjoy reading about the young man that had a 24-pound SALMON ON THAT WAS ANCHORED with his puppy on board that just had surgery and stiches . I posted it on the BASS column . The young man did a good job of staying calm . I would guess that this was his first Salmon on . I am sure that he will catvh many more from his staying cool under pressure .
