BITE ME!!
Went out with Bite Me guides (Dennis) today with my wife for some springer fishing. 2 15#'s in the boat, one more brought to the boat but was lost. All in all, a great day on the water, and a great first time experience with a fishing guide.
Dennis, thank you again for a great time. I will definately be calling you in the future for other trips. Top notch experience for my wife and I both.
Jennie...thank you again for the trip (this was my free trip from the contest a while back).
Others, if you have never fished with Dennis and are looking for a guide who knows where to get the springers and sturgeon, Bite Me guides has my recommendation.

Re: BITE ME!!
Tex - I wish I had known that was you, I was taking out just as you were getting in the boat with your wife to go fishing.
It was so crowded in the OC area today, I just couldnt stand it. I felt clostrophobic (sp) on the Willametter River  I punched the time clock early and came home and took the kids to the park.

Re: BITE ME!!
TEX-
Sounds like it heated up for you guys. When I was done pulling anchor, you already had the one fish ( driftboat, Mariners lid ), looks like you found a few others
Hopefully this starts you on a hot springer streak.

Re: BITE ME!!
Hey cooltexans it was great to have out for a day of what was supposed to be sturgeon fishing oh well I guess springers will have to do. you two were great company and also are pretty good at putting the whoop **s on some springers. I have a couple of days off so I think I'm going to try those "secret" spinners upriver and see If I cant get some springer for my own bbq. Oh and do freeze those fish if your not planning to eat them for a few days they will be fine.
lets do that again.

Re: BITE ME!!
The "secret spinners" and the "special prawns" were totally the ticket Dennis!
BOE and FWF1, I always wonder who are fellow ifishers when out on the water. Unfortunately, I spend more time on the banks except for those days where I bum a seat on a boat. After yesterday though, I might be able to talk my wife into a boat....maybe...but doubtful probably. She is in baby mode right now, not boat mode.
Slutgoddess...I will still give you the Sturgeon Crown for now, as we didnt get to go for sturgeons with Bite Me. If you arent having much luck on springers, I could show you where we caught ours, what we used, etc....but its hard to describe, I'd have to be on the boat pointing the way and describing things.

Re: BITE ME!!
Texass, Did you get the email with the high res version of the above pic? I will be trying the upper river today and see if the same tricks will work in my backyard, I suspect they will, but with springers being the finicky creatures that they are I may have to dig into my bag of tricks for some new secrets.

Re: BITE ME!!
I got the picture Dennis...thank you. It will probably be a week before we get our camera finished off and developed. I will post pics on here when that happens.
Studgoddess...as for Bite Me biting me for giving away the secrets....well, as far as secret locations go its probably not much of a secret. Seems there were roughly 6.2 million boats around us that day...and Dennis' new ride was turning every head.

Re: BITE ME!!
I got out upriver at wheatland yesterday and went to one of my favorite spots to try my secret spinners. Nothing. I can say I tried the upper river this year and wont be back. back to below the falls and lots of oversized sturgeon and salmon action up on the columbia. I hope the shad start showing I need bait.
