If you are gonna spend that kind of money, buy a Genetron and get a separate GPS unit. That way if one or the other fails you don't lose both. Walleye Central is where I found out about the Genetron. They do not have a website as they don't need one. They build a limited amount of them a year, then they stop production to go fishing the rest of the year.

KHH,
Email Sonars@juno.com
Guys name is Dick Knutson. Great guy. He has two units left for this years line, then he will fish the rest of the year. He will send you info on the units. I didn't buy one yet but will in the future. Having my daughter move in ate up my extra money.

Probably a good idea because I have a great GPS (Garmin GPS Map 76S) with Blue Charts on it already and it is fine unit..

I have that unit Terry and I am 100% satisfied. The color is a huge deal. You can easily mark sturg on the bottom and take a look at my salmon post. Marked a fish, dropped it down... BAM fish on! 10.4 inches makes it easy to read even from the back of my boat! What ever you get make sure it is color!

My old man is about to pull the trigger on one for his ocean boat. I have played with one already, they are the shizzle!!

Does anybody have a line on one that is slightly more consumer friendly in price?

Backlash- I just picked up the new Lowrance 335c which is their new color sonar/gps model. It comes with speed, temp, 4000 watts of power, and dual frequency. The screen is 5" diagonal, which is much smaller than the 104c, but it was only $699.00. These units are brand new and were just delivered to the stores last week.

Thanks for the info, Fishstalker. But, this is America and BIGGER IS BETTER. Go large, biggie size it, Super big gulps, and 10" fish finders!!! If it were me, maybe. My old man, it'll be the big screen.

Hey Terry you can also download a demo at the Lowrance website and play with the unit on your computer.
