On Wed 5/1/02, I took Smily, his Mother, and daughter on Wed. Anchored at the lake line till 11:30, but only saw two on. Dropped off the women and headed down river. Saw one on at the garbage hole. We anchored at the mouth of Meldrum bar till 2:15 no fish.

Today Thurs 5/2/02, I took another friend, we fished the lake line from 6:00am to 7:30am not seeing any fish on. So, we moved to below the Clackamas, and fished till noon. We had two biters on wraped Kwikfish, and one I got to fight one to the boat, but it was a native. Saw 12 fish on in the area from 7:45 to noon.

I fished from Meldrum Bar from 0930 to about noon on 1 May. I saw one salmon boated just after I got there. The boat was in the line just off the Clackamas. I had my binoculars so any time I saw someone standing in their boat I would look to see if they had a fish. I noticed a boat drifting down river with two guys standing, one of them heaving on a rod like he was pulling up the bottom of the river. I watched until he pulled a nice big sturgeon into his boat just across from Meldrum by that island. The boat turned so I couldn't tell if he kept it or put back in the water. It was a really nice looking fish. I did'nt see any fish caught along Meldrum in the time I was there.

If that guy is an ifish member it would be nice to hear about the big battle.

My dad just called - they just landed one in OC on a kfish, but said overall its a pretty slow day...
