Default Long Time Guide Ted Wade passes

Long time fishing guide, Ted Wade passed away last evening at Good Sam hospital. He died from complications from a recent heart surgery and kidney disfunction.

I personally fished many times with Ted on the Nehalem, Trask, NFN, Tucca and the Wilson. He always had a smile and was a pleasure to fish with.

Some of You probably can recall Ted's yellow driftboat with His Wife Judy, and or long time friend, Ed Voget in the front.

Ted was a commercial Ocean fisherman before He started Ted Wade's guide Service on the Oregon Coast. He will be missed by many people.

A memorial service will be at a later date. Also a memorial float is in the plans of His long time friend, and fellow fishing guide, Bill Miller.

Ted's wishes were to have His ashes spread on the Trask, where years earlier, the ashes of His Beloved Judy and friend Ed, were also scattered.

Rest in Peace, My Friend, I will miss You!!!

I only ever got to fish with Ted once, but have very fond memories of that day (in his yellow Clack). Ted was a GREAT guy with a heart of gold.

I'm so sorry to hear it. Prayers to the family and friends. I remember Ted on the Nehalem. He would let me know exactly how much he didn't like the internet.

God Bless his soul.

How short our memories are, I had forgot about Ted. Many times I would say hi as he passed me on the Trask. He was coming through the Rock Hole years ago and pulled in his gear. I told him to go ahead and drift through and see if he could pick one up......sure thing he or one of his clients did. Rest in peace friend.

I am Ted Wade's daughter, Raina,( AKA Leslie). I wanted to thank all of you for your love, support, and prayers. I miss my dad terribly. I look forward to seeing his dear friends at his memorial. You all hold wonderful memories of him. It will be a great time of celebrating his life.

I hope to see you all on the river one of these days soon. I plan on keeping his legacy alive, and am determined to catch a few big ones for my dad.

Don't be surprised if you see his yellow drift boat coming around the bend one of these days. Oh, by the way, yes, I can be just as loud as my father, so you just might hear me before you see the boat. I hear my dad could be hear before he was seen. We have been called "the loud family" more than once.

Thanks again, and hope to see you on July 17th at his memorial service.

Raina

Thanks guys!

I went to Ted Wade's beautiful memorial service today. There was a turnout of old friends and neighbors. The family did a great job with the service and the video tribute was awesome!!! I am sure Ted would have been proud of His kids and siblings, with the way it came out!! RIP good friend!!

Thanks to all of you fisherman friends of my father's for coming to his memorial. It was a beautiful tribute to his life. All of your stories were heart-warming to me. I am so glad that you shared your stories. He was the greatest fisherman around, and will be missed deeply.
