My first springer of 2004
Well, I took out my open seat crew and we hit the river hard. We trolled up and down and down and down again. It was cold in the morning and than the sun broke through in time for the first pound down of the year on the Super Z. Todd was the lucky crew member and fought her in beautifully. She had one too many fins, so I gave her a kiss and sent her on her way. I forgot how beautiful these fish are, reminds how all the fish in the Fall are to be considered boots. WOW what a beautiful fish. Thanks to my guests for the day, it was a pleasure meeting each of you and I look forward to another trip.

Re: My first springer of 2004
All I can say is Thank you ! What an Awesome trip. I have got to say, i was excited to be offered a seat with a carrot member, And i'll admit i had high expectations. And man Did this guy perform and exceed them. Zaq is one professional class act, and really knows his stuff. He knew where to be, what to do and use, and when to use it, and got me into this great early springer. If he ever posts an open seat, I would strongly recommend jumping on it. I guess the only bummer of the whole day, was the end , What i would have given to take that bottle of orange stinky fish gettin stuff home in my box  You can bet my order will be in Thanks again Zaq!

Re: My first springer of 2004
Here's a boot my kid caught on the Siletz a few Octobers ago. I tried to talk him into releasing it (didn't want to be seen with it back at the ramp) but hey, he's a kid!

Re: My first springer of 2004
Based on Jennie's latest rule change I guess we should mention that this fish was not caught in the mainstem CR.
BTW Zaq, you kinda look like Bono in that picture

Re: My first springer of 2004
You gots to protect your eyes when you are 73 miles an hour (Jetsledder scale) in an open boat. Plus, the boat is full of some guys you don't know, things can happen!
