I was hitting the water at 6:30 am this morning and went 0 of 1 and left at 9 am for work. The fish I missed was the nicest of the early morning bites, big and shinny brute ran the rapids and darn near spooled me! I just can't intentionaly break off a killer fish when there's any chance of landing it. I ran down the rapids, around the trees, stumps, boulders and brush and not once hung up on anything. We'll almost anything. About the time I yelled fish on the angler below me casted over my line and attempted to jerk it back

OH yes - nice twisty snarl in my line with a primo hog on . The guy felt bad and tried his best to keep up and free spooled out his line so it wouldn't pull on my line. It didn't matter though the fish was 100 yards down stream and headed into the next set of rapids when I turned him and my leader broke. The poor guys line broke some where along the way and he lost about a 125 yards of line so he was done for the day. Not the good karma to go to work with. I saw 6 other fish hooked, 3 darkies, one small 5# cromer, and three fowled hooked only one landed and released. Water was still high like the weekend and clear. A great morning to be on the water!
