IMHO this is getting out of hand....
We are now facing a second 24 hour netting period beginning tomorrow at 1000am and ending Friday at 1000am.
The following is taken from the CRC's own Joint Staff Report Dated February 5th, 2004:
http://www.dfw.state.or.us/ODFWhtml/...04feb5fact.pdf
"The Joint Staff is recommending that the following regulations be in effect during the 2004 commercial Season:
Individual fishing periods will not exceed 16 hours in length." Page 8
Someone please explain to me how having two 24 hour fishing periods meets this recommendation?
"2004 Winter Season Commercial Fishing Plan
• The Joint Staff is proposing the following decision making schedule for the 2004 winter season commercial
Test fishing occurs on Sunday.
Compact to occur Monday afternoon.
Full fleet fishery may occur Tuesday depending on results from test fishing on Sunday.
Use Tuesday full fleet fishery as test fishery or conduct test fishing on Tuesday.
Compact to occur Wednesday afternoon
Full fleet fishery may occur Thursday depending on results from previous full fleet fishery or test fishing on Tuesday." Page 7
As I read this it says fishing periods will be on Tuesday's and Thursdays. Not, most of Tuesday and part of Wednesday or most of Thursday and part of Friday.
Is it just me or does this seem like the CRC is not following through on these recommendations? Who is watching the CRC?
