Default Willamette O.C. 4/27

Fished 7 am to noon o'clock......one steelhead and one springer for my boat. Missed two hard take downs, stripping the bait off. 8:30 to 11 was the time for the HOT bite. (Two and three fish on at the same time) Saw 40+ fish caught by the time I left. Pink prawns was the bait of the day.

Congrats Moleman. You must have been below 205. I fished the sandbar until 12:45 and only saw about 15 fish total for the sand bar and lakeline area. I got lucky with one fish and rippenlips had a takedown while holding his rod and missed it. I'd say slow overall especially when you think of how it should be.
Two years ago, the day they reopened the season the fish were being slayed. I saw several boat limits that day and our boat had 9 takedowns and two springer for 3 rods.

We fished down near Cedar Oaks Ramp. We put in at 11 AM. I heard there was a pretty good bite around 8 AM. We got in a hog line, and barely got the first bait out, and both of us had good bites, one got hooked up, and got it to the boat, but with 1 too many fins. We stayed until 5:30, got 1 keeper about 18#, released one wild one, and had 3 other good takedowns. There were about 25 or so caught while we were out, one boat we saw had 5 nooks. Most were caught on Pink Prawns w/ Spinner Blades above the bait. Ours came on Sand Shrimp w/ small Spin Glo, and the other was on the top rig, a Fishin' Mission Special Flash Glo Spinner, Thanks Mark!!
It was our first Springer this year, and felt good to get back on the lucky side. My wife still is fishless, but I know her turn will come soon!! She has been so patient, and keeps trying, I'm proud of her!!

Hey all - I'm new to this. Saturday morning was as hot in the Garbage Hole as a theatre maker. The hogliners, most using spinners were doing really well, but so were the backtrollers - most using prawns. Several times I saw two and even three fish on at the same time. Bite was steady from first light, but was best between about 7 to 9:30.
I did "fair" - 2 takes backbouncing "cocktails" = 2 fish. I was fishing by myself. Alas, both had that extra fin and so I got by without having to clean them

Today was as cold out there as the morning before was hot, however. Marked a ton of fish on the graph Saturday but very few today. They must have all gone above the falls! Was the lake or sandbar any better? Just a few were caught and most of those were by the "liners". Somehow I got lucky when I dropped below the garbage hole and bumped into one. One take = one fish. This one was finless so I just popped it off the barbie. U
Yummmmmm!!!

We put in at Cedar Oaks and went buzzing up to hogline across from Clackamas. Three rods 1 takedown and two nice springers. One fish nearly eaten by seal, before it was netted. Kwickfish were used.
