Re: FishCraft DB Question
My dad and I got one last March. I love it and they are probably the best deal on the market right now. Haven't rowed many other boats so I don't have much to compare it to. Only a few things that I would change, for ex., bigger fish box and maybe front seats w/ a little more padding. Who really cares about the front seaters though  , right.
Del the owner is a great guy to deal with. I saw him at the sportmans show and told him I was thinking about having a bigger box built and he told me that he would get me a new rowers seat and a deeper and longer fish box(I don't have storage under rowers seat) for a $100 if I bring him my old one. I don't think it's that bad of a deal considering it's over a year old and well used.
You can email me if you have any questions. Hope this helps.

Re: FishCraft DB Question
ORS: I 've had one for 3 years. Probably one of the first half dozen built. I am very much satisfied with this boat and they have mad alot of adjustments and fine tuning. I've owned two other brands and this boat rows better than the others. My buddy who has had a different boat for the past 18 years always wants to row when we fish. We now fish alot. You wouldn't go wrong in buying one. Tell Del I said "HI" when you get yours. Good Luck!

We have some opprtunities to make some postive financial adjustments that will allow me to get some projects completed (fence, interior trim and, yes SC....a furnace!)and....a DB! Yee haww!! I told the wife my idea and she didn't say no. Well, that means YES in my book...This will be my first DB ever. I'll keep you all posted.

Re: FishCraft DB Question
ORS, thats awesome that you got approval from the boss. Now you got to start thinking about what color you want it to be. Oh, and all the options you might want. Start writing it down now so you can save yourself the headache later.

Re: FishCraft DB Question
I sold my Koffler and bought one of Del's 17' boats and am very pleased. Having owned and rowed a many boats it's a good boat for a great price. I really like the bigger transom for packing gear for the 3 to 5 day trips on the Deschutes and when you hang a kicker on it. If you get one make sure that you get the spray on bottom so boot studs don't tear up the floor. The oars I like are the Cataract shafts and the Sawyer dynalite blades (no need to counter ballance and durable).

Re: FishCraft DB Question
WW - oh, I've got it all lined out and have for some time. Black stripe with the gold FishCraft logo - about 2/3 of the way forward will be the Team Cast and Blast logo. One more logo in the middle of the two within a year - more on that some other time (no, not a guide sticker either). And, yes, I have my list of options all ready to take to Del. Hmmm...I better leave room for that Ifish sticker too, huh?
Spey Fly - thanks for the advise - especially on on the floor - good point. I'll add it to the list.

Re: FishCraft DB Question
Check out the new reflective logo they have now too. It's pretty slick lookin'. I have the gold one also but that new one it's pretty sharp.
Speyfly is the one who gave me all the info since last year know one really new much about Fishcraft. But within the last year they have really taken off.
Throw a kicker on it and you've got an awesome tidewater setup. I've got a 9.9 but an 8hp is sufficient and I think a little lighter.
Can't wait to see it, post pics when you get it
Heres a pic of my DB

Re: FishCraft DB Question
I have owned a 17' Fishcraft for just over a year. Great customer service as stated. Del flat out stands behind the quality of his boats. This is my first drift boat, so I can't compare how it rows to other brands, but so far, it's been a good boat.

Re: FishCraft DB Question
I will second that, that you get your floors sprayed. The glare off that new diamond plate can kill you on a sunny day. I used tuff liner and I'm not impressed with finished product. It has held up OK using cleated soles on it. Look around for who you think is best. When you do though I suggest that you have it sprayed in GRAY like I did. I think black will absorb too much heat and again burn you out of the boat on a hot day. Go take a look at the boat in Sportsman Warehouse if you get the chance, it's nice. I also think this boat rows better than my two previous other brand boat. They sit nice and high in the water. I did my bottom with COAT-IT, rather than Gluv-it. It's really slick! You almost have to push the boat to get it to move and extremely durable. Good Luck!

Re: FishCraft DB Question
WW - nice looking ride!
I can't wait. I went to Sportsmans today to drool again - they about made me wipe it up.
A couple questions for you DB owners:
1. What's the benefit of the raised floor sections?
2. Do most of you prefer the rope rower's seat or a low-back rower's seat?
Thanks!

Re: FishCraft DB Question
Make sure to check with Fishermans. They offer guide level discounts for outfitting a new boat and all you have to do is bring them the invoice. I don't know all of the details but it's worth a phone call.
