Default WTB Wood Carved Salmon

If you know anyone who might be doing wood carving of a Salmon, I am in the market for one. I need one at least 3' long for the eve over my boat shed. I live in the Portland, area and would consdier going anywhere that is within a reasonable driving distance.

Thanks,

Rusty

There's a guy in Canby that does them and sells them out of his yard. He's on Knights Bridge Road. There's also a guy in Aurora on Hwy. 99E (south end of town. Sorry, but I have no idea about prices.

I have a buddy who's grandfather does, fish, bears, bears with fish. He does a great one of a fhisherman on one side of the yard, with a jumping hooked salmon on the other side of the yard. He delivers. PM me if you are interested.

WE have a great carver at the north end of Florence that will make yo anything you want. He is very reasonable price wise and does amazing work. this is the bench my wife had made for me by him.

Hope this helps

Another carver has shop set up on northwest corner of 172nd and Foster (SE Portland). I'll have to check out the carver in Seaview since I'm going there this weekend to work on a rental house I own there. I'll get contact info if he does large salmon.

For exterior use, how about something more durable, like flat stock steel powder coated? Check out Eric Leonard, SpringBox Gallery, off NW Vaughn by ESSCO.

How fancy? What I mean is do you want something that looks good from a distance, maybe chainsaw carved or something really detailed, like the guy does birds that look like they are alive. If it is for above the boat shed, you probably don't need the detail of the guy I know, but I've never seen anything like what he does, mostly birds but has done fish.

I won one at the Scappoose Boosters Spring Chinook Derby last year that I am impressed with. Last year they had some left over and were willing to sell them.

Wounded Tuna-
Yours looks like the one my wife found in Homer last summer! It looks great over our fireplace!

Two shops I've seen with them.
If you're in Portland get on 99E at Oregon City go south about five miles, there is a shop (carver) on your left. You can't miss it. About 1/2 mile north of South End Road.
The other is in Aurora. Continue on 99E south about another 6 or 7 miles staying on 99E. You'll come into the little berg of Aurora. They're maybe 1/2 mile past the Pudding river bridge on the left. Again I don't think you could miss them if you're looking.
I have no idea of prices, I just drive by them daily. And they're close to Portland.
