Default Strangest Lure/Bait?

What is the strangest lure/bait you have ever found yourself or someone else fishing with? Or caught fish on?

My strangest and funnest lure had to be catching cutthroats in Canada on a homemade Molson bottle cap lure. They just went nuts for that blue cap.

Strangest bait, colored mashmallows for trout. What won't those fish eat? What in their natural diet even remotely looks like a light green puffball of sugar?

Caught Blugill on brown paper bag.
Caught Copper Rock Fish on Spam.
Caught Perch on Perch Eyeballs.
Know what a crappie tongue is? That's a weird bait.

When I was 10 or 11 yrs old (and the dinosaurs still roamed the earth)I was fishing the Trask with dad and lost my last wobbler, I dug a bait
hook out of my tackle bag and put a piece of orange peel on. Hooked a steelhead and landed it
all by my self. Been chasing the damn things ever since.

Brass barrel swivel with a small siwash hook on it for shad. Works great when it is sunny out.

Preparation H on an Apex spoon. I thought he was kidding but Gizmo actually expected to catch a fish with it.

Bank fishing sturgeon near the mouth of the Columbia. A friend's wife decided she would take the boredom out of a slow day by baiting up with the pickle out of a jar of roll-mop herring. Keeper.

She pulled the same trick with a chunk of hot dog.........

That's right, we used to use perch eye's for bait when we were ice fishing. Tough little things and worked great too. Not to fun digging em' out to put on the hook though.

In the early 70's we use to fish the upper S. Santiam for trout allot using Pautski(sp) Balls O Fire single red eggs. One day while fishing we ran out of eggs and used red huckleberries instead, the fish took them just as good as the eggs.

I saw a guy catch a steelhead on a short piece of pepperoni stick. That was a fish that we had spotted and a friend had been throwing nightcrawlers at with no luck. He reeled in and the other guy tossed and WHAM! fish on.
