Default Sandy Thursday? Any Guidance?

This would be the first time I would fish the Sandy, does anyone have any suggestions on where to put in, take out? What about the water is there any hairy spots? I've drifted the Kalama and both of the Lewis's for about 4 years and would like to hit something new and maybe get a springer or two. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx,

I haven't been out lately as I have been focused on moving over the last month. However, for easy drifting you really have two choices. Oxbow to Dabney and Dabney to Lewis & Clark. For any springers you will probably do better lower on the river between Dabney and Lewis & Clark. (both sections are very easy to drift and pose few problems) On the Oxbow to Dabney drift you are in a wilder section of river than Dabney to Lewis & Clark. There is a fee to get into Oxbow park and a fee to park at Dabney. If you have more specific questions feel free to send me email.

Got Fish,
Watch what time those parks close if doing an afternoon float. Chances of gettin' a springer are slim, but early summers are available. Expect a nice change of pace from those Washington crowds.

It has been pritty slow so far.Do the Dabney to Lewis & Clark run and fish the heck out of the first 5 or 6 runs and go real slow there is not that much fish holding water below that.If you want to make a hole day of it you might be better off starting at oxbow but check the regs. you have to float awhile no fishing from the boat above the power lines that cross the river below oxbow.let me know how you do. I will be there friday.Good luck and if your rod starts pounding the water dont touch it ,thats my fish i will be there friday to pick up the rod.
