Default Drano

Fished this am for about three hours, and only saw four fish taken, none before 1030. Heard of only 3-4 others. Have not seen a really good bite yet this year in four trips. Has anyone caught a fish out there between noon and three, 'cause I sure haven't.

a friend I fished from the bank today for four hrs and saw only 5 fish for about 30 boats, I snagged 2 boats lures and even got to snag a net that was on the bow of another....almost got to take it home , c'mon people ya got to give the bankies some room!!! ya all have the whole lake. it really was ridiculous of some these guys to come so close. I have a boat and would not come as close as some, are these people just stupid or what? and I must say that mostly the ones that were getting too close were guides! "dk guide service" ring a bell???

Fisher People have to work together at Drano. Yes the boaters have the rest of the lake and we share with each other.

The problem is the majority of the fish are in the deep holes right off the Columbia under the bridge and everyone wants a chance at a fish.

Most bank fisherman can cast before or behind the boats and time it right. Most are courteous and allow everyone a chance.

Have a good time.

Well, all I can tell you Painter is that i've fished Draino from a boat long before the bankies stacked up all the way around the West side like they do now. And also since before two years ago when they started migrating to the other side of the bridge. THERE IS ROOM FOR EVERYONE THERE. The best fishing is at the entrance to the lake. Yes, my boat allows me to fish the whole lake, and I choose not to.

Granted, some boats do troll too close to shore. For these guys, I say fling away.

Most boats stay at a respectful distance, and make a very tight turn at the bridge to compensate for all the bankies gathered around.

HOWEVER, MOST, and I repeat MOST of the bankies I have observed at Draino in the last few years have as much fun flinging their Warts as far as they possibly can, often times actually targeting boats because they feel the boats are too close. Just because you can cast that far and hit the boat, or cross their lines, does not mean they are not giving you ample room to fish.

So, if a boat is closer than 40 yards from shore, let them know.

If you think anybody within casting distance is too close, get a clue.

P.S. I always have scissors ready for yo yo's that try that crap. I've gathered several barely used shiny Warts over the years. Thanks!!!

Backlash 2,

I totally agree with you. I fished therte on Saturday and although the majority of the boateers were 40 yards or more from the bank, the bankfisherman were throwing there stuff out right in front, behind, and even hitting a boat or two. Saw several bankies and boaters tangle lines. The boaters were much better this year giving the bankies lots of room, but someone always has to spoil it. I know if I am keeping a good distance from the bankies and they hit my boat with a plug or tangle me up, I am going to get a plug out of it. You are also right about where the fish hold and it is extremely difficult with bankies lined up on both sides of the bridge. Bottom line is that both the bankies and the boaters need to respect each others space or problems will occur.

That's OK Painter, if you can actually wrestle the 80 lb. PowerPro that's attached to it away from me, it's yours
