Default Landing net holder - help!

Well, Rags and Snapshot got on me for my piddly net and I went out and dropped a greenload on a good one. But now the damn thing's so big I need a good place to stow it while fishing and underway. I don't feel comfortable having it on the top. So, what products or home inventions fit the bill for you guys? I have a top/windshield sled and would like it mounted along the side clear. Any help appreciated. Doc.

My solution is going to require a hole in the gunwale. take a PVC pipe flange big enough to hold the butt of the net and pop it in your gunwale and bolt it down with some stainless bolts. wont come out and is very stable....

I dont know if you noticed or not but thats what I have to hold my net...

This is an option if you dont want to drill holes

Go to www.cabelas.com .. then go to the bargain cave, then marine, then misc. marine ... Its designed for Rods, but holds a net.. apply to your side window - They have large Suction cups that hold them on. I saw a guy at bonni last week and he said its never come off.. I ordered mine the next day, should be here in the next couple days.

On my boat I used a couple of Fishon rail-clamps, (one on horizontal rail, and one on vertical rail support)and attached fishon net/gaff holders (Cabela's has them too). Bolted (w/stainless steel)a 4" section of PVC tube to the lower net/gaff holder, and put a bolt across the bottom of the tube as a "stopper" for the butt of the rod. Provides a solid, out of the way position for the net, and no need to drill into the boat.

Doc,

I too used to put the net up on the roof top of our sled. Many times we would take off and the net would go flying. I did lose one!

My solution was this...... I took a piece of black pvc drain pipe that is 2" ID. I cut this to about 30" and then installed 2 hose clamps on the outside of this pipe section. These two hose clamps in turn are connected to 2 other hose clamps that are attached to my rear roof post on the boat.

This holds the net securely when we are underway full throttle and it is totally out of the way when we are fishing. It is within easy grasp when needed! Although it hasn't been needed nearly enough lately!

This worked best for me and there was no drilling required!
