Re: elk burger
I like taking a couple pounds of elk burger and an egg or two (to help the elk stick together better for patties) and a small tube of blue cheese. Mix all together in a bowl with some Johnny's salt, garlic, pepper, and a little of cayenne pepper, and make elk patties. Saute some mushrooms and oinions and cook some bacon for the top.....sooooo goooood.

Re: elk burger
Well there is a thousand ways to make a good elk burger, but first I will recomend putting an egg in for every pound of meat you make up. Elk is very lean, so there is not enough fat for it to stick together.
Most are very simple. Here are a couple ingredients I mix and match for different flavor burgers (all per 1 pound):
3 tbs Yoshidas Teriyaki (more of less to taste but good starting point)
1/2 of a med red onion chopped (mix in with burger before cooking)
1.5 tbs all purpose seasoning (use in all burgers)
Out of these you can have teriyaki, onion, teriyaki onion (a favorite), just seasoned, etc. If the burger seams runny still with the liquids added, you can add plain or italian bred crums until it becomes "sticky". Hope these help.

Re: elk burger
Basically anything you do with hamburger you can do with elk burger. When I cook up ground venison I don't usually add anything other than salt/pepper. Sometimes I will kick it up a notch or 2. But anyway you eat it, it is better than the junk meat we get from the markets.

Re: elk burger
We eat elk and venison burger for everything: meatloaf, lasagna, chili, spaghetti, tacos, etc. Like GameChaserFid said, whatever you do with regular hamburger, can be done with elk/venison burger. The only drawback is...once you eat it, you won't want to go back to beef burger

Re: elk burger
Hey WCA, welcome to ifish!!!
Now, go throw some elk burgers on the grill! Oh yeah, don't make the classic mistake that most people make with wild game by overcooking it......

Re: elk burger
I mix egg into my patties as mentioned above.
I then form thin patties, about 1/2 in. bigger in diameter than bun size. I take Bleu Cheese crumbles and put a layer on one patty. Take another patty, put it on top and mash the edges together. Put em on the grill, salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder to taste.
