Default Fish breading

Dipped some cod and scallops in raw egg and then in smashed up chili cheese Fritos. Then tossed them in the deep fryer.

Didn't taste like the chili cheese at all.

MMMMMMM, good stuff!!!!

Now I have to go to the store after the X-files and get some more chips.

Ok, I went back and got some mroe chips.
Picked up a small package of shrimp too. Oh boy, I could really pack on the weight now.

Found me a new favorite food.

What gets me is the food you get in restaurants vs. what you can make at home. I'd rather stay home, cheaper and better, what more do you want?

Anyone else have any favorite recipes?

I'm looking for some good oyster recipes and crawdad recipes. My aunt had this neighbor from Texas that used to bring these balls over that were a doughball with chunks of crawdad meat inside some type of doughball. MMM those were good. Would love to get that recipe.

Chili cheese frito's ? My favorite chip with a sandwich, but on fish? I think my favorites for larger thicker fillets( white fish, sturgeon),is japanese panko breading, and for smaller fillets ( perch, bass) good ol' Mom's recipie. That's smashing up saltines, rolling the fillet in milk and egg, then saltines, and frying in cast iron in bacon grease.mmmmmmm good. Now if a person wants to spice it up a bit, you can add Franks red hot or cayenne pepper to the milk and egg mix.Johnny's , lemon pepper......And don't forget the beer

dip in mixture of egg and milk, then shake them in a baggie with Betty Crocker Potato Buds (gotta be Potato Buds, not other instant potatoes), then deep fry.
