Re: Check this out....
When we first came across the top of the ramp to find an open lane, the boat was half off the trailer. I woulda thought he woulda stopped at that point, but when I came down the ramp with my boat, this is where the situation ended up.
My guess was he wanted to do a "Float off the trailer"....thing, and unclipped the boat from the trailer...started backing down ,and was reminded... just a bit too late... that he had ROLLERS on his trailer.
I saw him about 4 hours later zipping up the river.
How embarrassing...I'm sure they enjoyed me there with the digicam.

Re: Check this out....
I've seen this very same thing before. We were putting in at South Beach with one of my Dad's neighbors about 15 years ago. Dad's boat was already in the water, so we were helping the neighbor put his in. He had unhooked the boat completely, just like he had a hundred times before. I was walking down the dock with his bow line in my hands. Suddenly, my not so smart and over excited brother yells "STOP!" Off the trailer comes the boat in the very same situation. Of course, I've also seen this guys boat sitting in a tree in his front yard, beached by the tide, and sitting along side the road after a set of railroad tracks. Not a dough ball, except the tide thing, just a very unlucky individual.

Re: Check this out....
I've seen that before at chinook landing except
bigger glass boat and inboard. They had one heck
of time trying to get it off the concrete. Ouch.

Re: Check this out....
Yeah...It would seem that grooved concrete would act like a giant file.
My uncle (Who's since passed on) one time after just a bit too much alcohol ingestion, dumped his car and trailer in the salt water there at Garibaldi Marina. I didn't get to see that one, just heard about it.
I oughta sit there at the dock all day once with my camcorder going....might be able to pick up that $10,0000.00 prize on "Americas Funniest Home Videos" show????

Re: Check this out....
At portco i watched a guy dump his boat on the concrete .... when i got back later that day, a different guy dumped his truck in the river.... I cant remember who uses the Doughball comment on this board ( i like it) - but that launch was full of doughballs that day.

Re: Check this out....
... and then there was the guy walking down next to his trailer as his wife was backing down the steep ramp at Kalama. The guy is worried about the trailer hitting the walkway and yells, "Hey, Honey!" Confused, she stomps on the brakes, launching the boat off the trailer onto the ramp while 40 of us watch, waiting in line for the next open lane. They were gone by the time my day on the water was done.
