Default Net / no net

I had a nate last year that was an amazing fighter, this was one screamin' fish. I knew it was a nate and I tightened my drag to try and get him to the boat ASAP and was determined not to net him. Unfortunately that poor beautiful fish fought himself to death and I could not revive him. It really made me question my "no net" policy. Maybe if I had netted him quick and released him he would have made it? I was also watching the Hot Tamale show last night and watched every nate netted and released quickly and successfully. Made me wonder a little........
