Default Red Side's Lodge

I'm heading over to the Deschutes for a few days in June and while looking around for places to stay I stumbled across a place called the Red Side's Lodge, which is supposed to be just across the river from Warm Springs. I've never heard of it and there's hardly anything on line, so I was wondering if anyone here knows about it. I'd also welcome any input on places to stay in the Warm Springs-Madras area. I thought about Kah-Nee-Ta, but it's almost twice as much a night and just one restaurant and a casino. Does staying there give you the right to fish that stretch of the Warm Springs River? That might be a factor.

I did some more looking and found that the lodge is apparently owned by the Deschutes River Conservancy and isn't a public facility.

what macfish said, it is owned by the deschutes river conservancy. they hold silent auctions and open bids on fly fishing trips and package deals. i've never done anything with them but ive talked to some people.

1. We actually got married at Red Sides back when Bischoff owned it -- very special and cool location!

2. Used to be that Kahneeta guests could fish some portion of the WarmSprings river and I know folks that had good salmonfly action there...worth investigating to see if you still can?

3. Just for a place to hang your waders, The Crossing, in Madras works well and accepts pets. I would shop them against Hoffy's Motel located just up the hill.

I remember when Dr. Beamer owned a stake in Redside Lodge (or maybe he still does) and I had the good fortune of fishing it quite a bit (used to date his daughters best friend). Truly a special place.
