Fishing noob, Go over to the Salty Dog side for your question. someone there might be able to help you better. As for the bottom fishing you can figure if the swells are not too bad, this time of year is always good. If you do a search for bottom fishing there is lots of info from our local depoe bay expert...(Born To Be Wild)good luck

I was just fishing outside of the Depoe Bay channel from 1 to 2:30 today and only caught 2 small sea trout using muscles.

"Born to be Wild" is the real Depoe Bay expert on Ifish.
You may want to email him.

Yep I'm the same as DopeyBayDan.
Actually it depends on who is asking, what mood I/m in or what day of the week it is.

It wasn't clear to me whether you were talking fishing off the rocks or rock fishing or bottom fishing in a boat.

I taught quite a few people both last year and if it is off the rocks you're talking about then one of them is Jamie (lingslayer) and she is good and knows quite a few of the spots.

If you need info from me then you're better off calling me or have me call you as I have unlimited long distance here in Longview (land line) and the normal cell thing.

I'm just too far behind and so much to do and I type slow.

But like someone else said there is a lot of info on this site including the extensive Depoe Bay Bottom Fishing - small boat or what ever I decided to call it on the Salty Dog's thread a month or two ago.

Sorry about the unanswered email's folks but sometimes I just get busy with things and with all this moving and this temporary AOL email , I lost quite a few.

Dan, thanks for your contributions to this great forum, and you helped me a lot regarding rock fishing last year in Depoe Bay.
I'll take 4 days off this coming weekend just to get away from the Portland area. I always went to Depoe Bay in the summer and fished at Boiler bay, fishing can be productive at times, but i'll try some other spots if you don't mind showing me.
By the way, i mainly fish off the rock, i don't have a boat and not planning to have one in the near future.
Thanks for your help
