Thumbs up Frying Fish

Picked up some nice "Rock Fish" from Costco today and decided to have beer battered fish and home made chips....I dredged the fillets in "Pride of the West" then added Deschutes Inversion IPA to the rest of the batter mix until it was kinda loose, slowly lowered them into the hot oil and cooked them until a golden brown. Used my wife's "Le Press" for the first time and made homemade fries to go with the meal. Wow !

Tartar sauce for the fish....Ketchup for the fries and a cold Inversion to wash it all down.

That looks better than most seafood joints. Impressive. I like Tempura, but I'll have to try that recipe. The wife now wants one of those fry cutters. Thanks for making me hungry again.

I am glad you had a good soulfood meal after that tough Phils loss tonight;-)

Tough loss two in a row ! Even I was impressed with how the fish turned out...I really like Pride of the West. Now for the "Le Press", My wife told me that she bought that like 8 years ago after seeing an "infomercial" late at night. She got it ...opened the box, looked at it once and that was it! We got married and It has been in our basement for 7 years, I opened up the box today and This is one cool machine ! Might be tough to find one of these....not available on the "As Seen On TV" site.

Go Phillies !!

That's funny. It can go either way. I had a roomy that just NEEDED to have the microwave egg cooker. Well....that didin't really work out. But my wife bought a late night infomercial "Vidalia Chop Wizard" and it has been killer.

I can taste the oil from just looking at that fish and fries , I did not say that would keep me from eating them.
Looks good as always Mr.Dorkman.

Actually "YouLean" except for the slight sheen....this fish was light as were the fries with no "taste" of Oil....It was Fresh oil. I'll probably do it again before the weekend is over
