Default Clackamas on the 3rd

Hey everyone,
I have a trip planned for the clackamas on june 3rd. It is not with fly gear this time, but I will fish it on the swing soon.
Anyway, I was wondering what you guys thought about fish numbers around this time. We will be fishing for springers and summer steelhead if the numbers are good on the latter.
I have yet to catch a steelhead or springer and was wondering what you all thought of my chances during that time period?

Thanks for all the input,(in advance)

matt

If you know how to read water and how to fish your chances ought to be fairly good. There are fish in the river.

The first week of June can be very good, weather permitting. It's near the peak of summer steelheading (varies year to year) and near the peak for springers too. Best case for you would be to have a decent rain a few days before to raise the river, and then some clouds on the day you go. If it's at the end of a sunny week, it might be slow.

I hooked one a couple days ago, my wife hooked two and we saw several roll over the weekend. I think the summers are starting to come up in pretty good numbers, so two weeks from now should still be pretty good if the sun continues to hide behind the clouds.
