Default Headed to the Deschutes 21st-23rd

Going to hit the big D next weekend! It's my yearly pilgrimage from John Day to hit the salmonfly hatch.
Camping at Mecca for Friday-Sunday. I'm in the green Toyota pickup with a camper shell. Stop by and say hi to a fellow ifisher! Sticker on the camper shell says bloody decks with a tuna pic.
How's the camping looking these days? I know it can fill up pretty quick with the hatch arriving......
Good luck, and I'll be back in June! love it out there.......

Hi Freediver111, Was down yesterday (Friday) It's a zoo down here lots of people in every hole, Mecca had sites open only 21 cars and trucks in the parking lot for the walk in's. Fishing was fair, fish are starting to look up.I would go sub surface to touch more fish, Down lower Maupin area I heard that they are locked on to the big bugs. Yesterday I had a newbee in the boat and back again today. I will let you know how he does, I will also be down the day before you come I will let you know how things are going then. River borne is also up to date on the fishing and is giving a report on ifsh.

Thanks for the heads up!
If reports come in that Maupin is where the big bug action is by Thursday, I may decide to head that way rather than Mecca.

Good luck, and let me hear some reports later on in the week!
