Summer's here indeed...
Nice, thick and feisty 30.5" brat from this morning. My first steelhead on the swing! All that time invested in sticking with the spey instead of resorting back to gear finally paid off. The fish took a black/blue MOAL from a boulder strewn run swung Skagit style with 9' Z-14. Tasty BBQ for tomorrow night!

Nice fish!
With the nice weather, I expect a few other Ifish Fly Fishermen will be out on the rivers this weekend...

Keep up the good work, this Summer should be great; now that you have the confidece that it works, it will just get better. Just don't catch too many, I'm still on zero for this Spring; I did have a few grabs this week. Just a matter of time now.

I'm on zero for this Spring because I haven't been targeting Steelhead (yet). Still targeting these guys (or in this case, these Gals):

I really want to switch over to the fly rod exclusively, but I just can't figure it out to the point where I am all that confident in it... yet.

Yeah, do tell. I know a couple honeyholes for chinook that will be popping here in the next couple weeks, and I want to take one on a fly rod. I saw a guy flipping a black jig take one on a coastal creek last week, but it's sort of cheating. I'll probably still try it though.
