Default clipped or not clipped

I've heard from some that if it has a bump it's not cliped and they will bust you .This was very disappointing last year when i caught a 25lb steelie with no camera and it still had a bump althou you could tell that it had been clipped my heart said better safe then sorry and i let her swim free .i've been kicking my self ever since and i'm getting sore .

i would like some thoughts on this subject to put me at rest .i mean did a hatchary and nat get togather just to mess with me or what

A bump is a healed clip scar. Many clipped fish are like this, just a small bump, but the fin is gone.

If it has the adipose fin intact, it has to be released.

"Healed fin clip" is the new wording. Agree, Bump? then THUMP! As long as it is a definate healed "bump"

Patial fin makes it legal...So, half an adipose makes it legal... Dorsal may be not clipped or partially regrown. Watch for other fin clips such as pctoral and pelvic fins too..Also possibility that there may be a maxillary clip and no other fin clips, however not legal.

I realesed a steelhead a couple of weeks ago because of the same thing. It had a bump but I knew it had been clipped. The only problem was that it was white on the end and so I felt it wasn't healed, I think someone had hooked it and it was a native and they cut the adipose fin. But then realized it was to obivious and realesed it. I did the same and let it go to be on the safe side.
