Default Sandy River Spey Clave

Hi Jennie,
I just wanted to make sure that you and your members are aware that Metro is hosting the Sandy River Spey Clave, May 14th - 16th at our majestic Oxbow Regional Park. Experts include famous authors; Chasing Metal - steelhead columnist for California Fly Fisherman Magazine, Oregon's most sought after fly fishing guides, the Captain of the England team for the 2003 world Fly Fishing Championships, top contemporary teachers of fly fishing specializing in Spey Casting, FFF-certified Master Casting Instructors, and steelhead fly fishing pioneers of the Sandy River. Here’s the schedule; http://www.flyfishusa.com/about-our-...ave-agenda.htm

Friday, May 14th is ladies only day for which Mia Sheppard has gathered a stellar group of women instructors. Mia, one of only two female steelhead guides in our beautiful state of Oregon, has just returned from the Jimmy Green International Spey-O-Rama & Fly Casting Festival held at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, with the world champion spey casting title in the women’s category!

This is a free event with free food, but we do charge $5 for parking. If you need more information please let me know.
thank you for your time.

BTW camping is open year round with showers and flush toilets available. No pets allowed in the park and gates lock at legal sunset.
This is not a parking fee, it is a day use fee, charged to each vehicle entering the park. Separate camping fee is charged nightly with firewood available. The Friday events are open to both men and women with a potluck dinner at 6:0 PM. Free lunches each day.

Looking to go on sunday. Check out some new gear. Would be cool to meet some fellow IFishers to put a face to the names.

I went for the Saturday session. Great weather, great food, great instruction, and a great opportunity to test drive a whole lot of equipment!

I didn't go to this years event but couldn't. My question is since when did the Sandy Clave become a Metro event rather than a Flyfishing shop event? I left PDX a couple of years ago but if metro wanted to support fishing they should do something with the casting ponds in Westmorland.

It was a great event as it is every year. Mark and Patty do an amazing job pulling this off year after year.
The only complaint I had was being "accosted" by the CCA guy trying to sell memberships while people were in line for food.
Can't understand why they were there in the first place.
