Default Green Peter

Just a thread for Green Peter, That way there won't be five or six threads going on in different locations.
I just got these kokes ready for dinner. Fillet, the remnants, and skinless fillets ready for the fryer

Man, those look good! Fishnmachine brought a mess over last night that he caught at GP on Saturday. I filleted and skinned them and he dredged them through some Bob's Red Mill Corn Flour and fried them in Crisco Butter flavored shortening. Add a little salt, pepper and lemon juice and the feast was on. MB.

Cannon I saw your post and have never tried fried kokanee before. I used some Pride of the West batter & fried some up for dinner. That is some of the best fish I have ever eaten. It’s the one time I’m glad my two girls don’t like fish. MORE FOR ME….YES….

I pan fry in butter after coating with panko seasoned crumbs. Very good, but not as good as wrapped in foil and cooked over the campfire....now that's good eatin.

Sorry, did not mean to turn this into a cooking thread, back to GP reports.......

You killed a great fishing picture with that hat. The picture would have been GREAT if the hat was Black & Orange with a OSU on it.... Go Beavers...

I never or almost never fish by the island. Can't stand combat fishing and just because everyone else does it doesn't mean that it is effective, only that someone caught fish there once or twice. If you don't want to fish bumper boats, try fishing the outside of the lake down one side to the dam and back the other side. You will do just as well and not encounter the stress factor. The fish are spread out now and are biting where you find them. We nailed several on the way back to the ramp trolling into the wind at 2.2 mph.

Great info thanks Cannon. How far away from the bank are you fishing when you are heading towards the dam?

Sometimes too dang close. I left a few dodgers and some of my terminal gear on a couple of the terminal gear displays along the way...

I was on the water at 6:00 AM and had 25 fish in the boat at 9:30 and that's AM not PM. Yesterday they didn't want to come to the boat so I lost several, today it was better I only lost 7. Now to get them in the brine and then to the smoker.

On the computer it says Portland to Sweet home is 97 miles and Green Peter is roughly 13 miles from the center of town to the thistle boat ramp.
