Default Tuesday Report....

Well the boys and I gave day two of our spring break fishing fiesta all we could and came up empty around Camas and down gov't island. Got nothin', saw nothin' and only heard of one caught.

The water was up and more green than yesterday with a lot of "floaties" (as my 5 year old put it) coming down river. Great fun for the pump. I noticed the Washougal was way up this morning. Is it just snow melt or what? How was the water below the Willamette?

Anybody else out today?

We were Catapiller Island today. No fish, saw very few caught, like 2. Water was up and good color. Windy with a 2 foot chop. Willow bar and Social Security Beach was very slow as well.

Longview and below was fine today! Fish checker said it was the best day yet. Several boats with more than a fish per person average. Not a bad way to spend a sunny day.

Apparently there was good fishing below Frenchman's on the late flood tide this AM. Bachelor was slow, with about a half fish per boat.

My good friend fished just above the I-205 bridge along side Government Island this morning. He was not successful, but saw two caught between 11:00 and noon, both on Kwikfish.

Fished Sand Island area today. Wobblers, Kwikies, Spinners, no help at all. Saw none and the real kick in the balls was the commercial making his way past us to set up for night sweeps.

The wife and I fished Gilbert/Coon I. area Tues. Saw more caught than the three days we fished it last week, maybe eight and heard of several more, all on herring. None for our boat though, except the one native 12 Lber. that snaged itself in the shoulder and jumped around like a summer stealhead.
I feel discusted and dejected, 'till tomorrow maybe. It's about time to hit smallies!
