Those that use this launch will know what I'm talking about. The sand bar on the down stream side. Received an email today and the permit process is very cumbersome and takes forever. It won't be dredge any time soon. I have seen the parks folks using front end loaders to scoop sand as far out as they can safely get. So as the water drops larger boats are restricted to the upstream side of the launch.
I gotta wonder why the change in water flow to this entire stretch of river. I sense it might have something to do with, maybe a large boat basin and channel dredged just upstream for Christianson Bros. yacht builders. Ya think ?

Yes that is quite a coincidence. There is also a project underway to cable under the river, just down from the new cove. The drilling crew has been there for months.
There is alot of sand on the ramp and I beleive as you do Kaus that building the new drydock for Million dollar boats is related to it. In years past the big problem has been driftwood but that gets turned into firewood and hauled off.
