Lower Rogue River Springer Report.....
Was down for the weekend, but wasn't there to be fishing, just got on the water for a couple of hours on Saturday. One reel-screaming takedown, came back with just a stripped bait. Fish are coming in the lower river (below the Clay Banks) and are biting an hour both sides of high tide. Not a lot of fish yet, some guides are getting 2-4 per day.
Water is dropping very fast, 4-5ft visibility. The place needs rain, otherwise it's going to be a long spring and summer. They didn't get the rain or snowpack that we got up here.
The Umpqua looked absolutely gorgeous, a light grey-green, lots of boats.
