Herring Rumors
Please post rumors of herring availability here.
Sunday morning, on the way back from clamming (which was very good) we sniffed around Astoria for any whiff of herring but found none.
One QwikMart-type cornershop out by Hammond said they might have some this Thursday.

Re: Herring Rumors
Sunday I picked up a bunch of Green labled herring @ FM in OC. I took my old man and the neighbor and picked up enough for the whole year, and maybe enough for the beginning of next year. (I HOPE).
I mean there was nothing else to do Sunday morn when the board went down.

Re: Herring Rumors
No surprises here... this afternoon Hayden Meadows FMS and GI Joe had nothing but the tiny orange label herring.

Re: Herring Rumors
Sixteen packages of green label were delivered to Motion Marine again today. Don't know if they'll be there tomorrow, but I'll bet that some will be there. They're also going to start selling prawns by the pound soon, too.
Fred Meyer is getting a case per store per week. The problem is that they haven't been limiting their sales to individuals yet, so as soon as they arrive someone will buy the whole case of them at once. If you can find them, then cool.
Otherwise it seems like red labels are still doing okay out there. Anchovies are a good substitute as well in a pinch.

Re: Herring Rumors
Probably a bit far for a lot of you, but G.I Joe's in Issaquah, WA has plenty of green label and red label. I'll be exporting a few to the river later this week.
