Default Pontoons, Trolling Motors, & Saltwater

I'd like to use my 'toon to troll for Salmon and Dollies in the bays around Whidbey. My trolling motor is an older Die-Hard (Sears?) but I think it's made by Minnkota, (not sure). The guy I bought it from told me it would be ok just run it and rinse in freshwater when I got back. Like we do with our large boats. There's also a couple of places for decent greenling fishing in close too.

Figured I'd ask for your thoughts on it before I do it. Can't afford one of those fancy schmancy saltwater versions. Last yr. I went crabbing in it, (Man it was hard to figure out how to carry 2 full-size crab pots on it), but I didn't use the motor then.
