I wouldn't waste my time unless you hear anything different.
Started at the Longview-Kelso bridge at about 6:00AM and one smelt in about a dozen dips.
Hi-tailed it for Lexington where we got them last night and 4 in one scoop and a couple singles and most dips came up blank.
Stoped at Rocky Point on the way down and a guy there said natta and when I said I was headed for Gearhart Gardens he said there was nothing there 45 minutes ago.
Stoped at Carival Market and the guys there were scratch fishin'.
Stoped where a truck was parked just below Carival market and the Sturgie fisherman there had a limit (smelt) that he got at first light.
The only positive.
But then this guy went on about the 27# wild steelhead he illegally kept and how the other plunkers condoned it.
I talked to this local and explained his actions were wrong and why.
I don't know why he was telling a stranger of his illegal activity.
The guy was so full of stories that it made me wonder if that wasn't just another one.
Anyway I'm sure I'll see him there again since he said he lives right there and I know what his truck looks like and sounds like he fishes there alot.
I'll give him my .02 cents again.
I think I'll head down to Gearhart just to see if a new shot of fish are coming in and drive the river one more time but I don't need anymore and I need to get ready for my coast trip.
If I see or hear of anything later I will add it to this post.
