Re: Wanted, Brown Recipe
I favorite recipe for browns;
chop them up in small pieces and throw them in the garden.
You couldn't pay me to eat a brown! They sure are fun to catch though.

Thanks for the Tip. I'm sure it will improve the taste. I told my wife that I recieved an answer back, She's still laughing! My favorite pool is Wickiup and Kokes are my fish. I've heard of recipes for Browns and thought maybe. We'll see. Thank you for your input, I may be just like you in the end. Larcon

Re: Wanted, Brown Recipe
Don't let me get you down. I am used to fishing hatchery browns that don't taste very good. White mushy meat that is very bland.
Not sure what those bigger browns taste like. I am sure someone will respond with a great recipe for you!

Re: Wanted, Brown Recipe
I got some nice browns a couple of years ago and put them in a foil boat with butter and a little lemon and some seasoning, and it was the best trout I have ever had! Very sweet meat, these babys were carnivore's! Just my

Salt and pepper the inside and out. Stuff with salsa and squeeze some lime juice inside with the salsa. Nothing wrong with an early season brown from nice cold water.

Re: Wanted, Brown Recipe
Boil a big pot of water. throw in some small red potatoes. Boil 10 minutes leave in pot.
then add some small onions let them boil for 10 minutes leave them in the pot.
Then add pieces of brown trout (remove skin) 4in x 4in boil them for 10 minutes. Add any seasoning you want.
Remove all melt some butter and dip the fish in butter and let me know what you think. It's called poor mans lobster and the name should tell you how good it is. You can use Salmon Steelhead it is very tasty.
DO NOT THROW THE BOILED WATER AWAY. It makes excellent chowder stock.

Re: Wanted, Brown Recipe
Lay a fillet skin side down on tinfoil , squeeze 1-lemmon on top, sprinkle lemon pepper, spread 1/4 inch mayonnase over the fish, add sliced onions, salt and pepper, fold over the foil to cover entire fish, cook on med-high heat on BBQ for 20-25 min.Uncover for last 5-min for browning. ABSOLUTLY the best tasting recipe for trout I have ever tried...works goo for steelhead too MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Thanks for the help. Have used this method for years on all kinds of fish but for me a good size Brown needs a little more help. Maybe different seasoning? Thank you for your input.
