Kwikfish baitwrap

With more than few reports of springers full of smelt has anyone tried using smelt as a wrap on the kwikfish? It seems like they are no harder to use and the scent lasts a while. I tried them in a RSK but their face keeps falling off.

Last spring because herring was hard to get and all the Salmon we caught had smelt in them we got the bright idea to troll cut plug smelt, so we trolled smelt for 3 days and not a hit we went back to herring and had take downs every day we fished , the smelt looked real good, they rolled right everything but the salmon would not touch them

Thanks for the info. I was wondering the same thing about smelt. Does not make any sense to me but apparently it does to the fish.

I think the herring smell is better but they are eating smelt. The roll on a cut plug smelt is odd but I thought with all the smelt this year it might be different. Putting it on a K-14 it seems like a option. Maybe they won't bite but I will try it for a bit. Hey, better than sitting here!

I just bought a 25lbs box of sardines, and 1/2 case of green lable harring. In the morning Im going to troll cut plug herring on the flood and anchor down on the out going and try the sardines on some new k13 kwikfish that light up, I think I will wrap them and see what happens
