Default Benson Lake Questions

I have just started hearing about this place. I want to take my mom fishing there before she go's back to So Cal. Is it your basic dough show or what??? Any pointers or tips would be awesome.
Thanks

If you're talking about Bensen Lake in the gorge, my best advice is to fish it soon after a stocking. It gets fished out quick and the fish can also exit through the creek into the CR. Also, don't fish the west bank near the parking lot. It's way too shallow. The fish are dumb little stockers. Everything works when they're there.

The best way is to park at the multnomah falls entrance parking lot. Go underground through the tunnel and at the end of the tunnel there are boulders to the right. Climb the boulders up to the edge of the highway. Follow the road for 5 mins and you will start to see the lake to your left below you. There will be short trails leading down to the lake. This is the best place to catch them. Less risky than the railroad way. Now, power bait a few feet off the bottom or using kastmasters are the tickets to catching plenty of fish. You should limit out in 30 minutes after they stock it. use light leader line. The asians and russians know the secret.. but its not a secret no more
