Default Swift Resevoir

I want to go to Swift and give it a try. A couple of questions: What is the best launch to use? Targeting trout; what is the best way to rig up? Also where to run to begin the trolling? Thanks for any input.

There's only one ramp- at the Swift Forest Camp.

This time of year I would head left from the ramp and go up to the deadline where the orange buoy marks the mouth of the river.("Selective Gear Rules" between there and the bridge!) There is a ton of fish anywhere around there.
I threw a split shot and a wooly bugger from the boat there and caught one every cast for a couple hours. Powerbaiters were cleaning up also.

Trolling anywhere around there is good- the farther from the river- the slower the fishing was, for me anyway. I trolled the same fly rig all day and caught fish. Everyone else was catching fish also- change your lure if you go 10 minutes without a fish.
Good luck!

Pop gear and a worm works well, done good just about every where at Swift. If I have time and good weather I run to the dam and fish, if not nice weather or just a quick trip, I run accross from the camp grounds and fish what I call the south side. Watch your depth sounder as the bottem ca come up quick at Swift. Good Luck!
