Straydog, thanks for the good news on the SRD. Although it's slower than I'd like to see,it is progress just the same. Let us know when the demolition date is set,I'll bring the Dom Peringnon.

We'll see what happens...."no guarantee in politics"-- funding or removal...

I know a biologist that has been trying to get this crusty thing out since the mid-70's. He said he probably won't see it out in his lifetime. He will be there when it comes out...

Continue to keep us informed Straydog

Think and act in a positive manner...

This dam WILL come down in my lifetime.

This has been my attitude and belief since day one that I became immersed in this issue. It is that mind set that has fueled many of us that like Freespool, thinks this has been much too slow in coming, but have stayed the course and remain active and optomistic.

I cannot tell you how many people here in GP have tried to tell me I am wasting my time and energy. Most of them are people that don't want the dam out and will continue to discourage and distract. You have no idea the negative attention this issue has brought to a "home town kid" and how many times it would have been so easy to just say "forget it, it is not worth my time and energy". But I don't work that way...

NOW is a great time to write to our State and Federal elected officals and thank them for the progress that has been made and to urge them not to let the millions that have been invested in this project already to be wasted. NOW is the time to ask them to expedite the funding process and get this long over due project completed.

Thank you for your support. I will keep you all posted as this moves forward and will indeed be anxious and ready to share the wine!!

The most ironic thing about this issue is the funding. I'm amazed and dismayed at our sense of right and wrong. After the great flood of 1964 it was no time at all before funding and dam construction where under way. And in a very short time two dams were up and running. Now along comes the SRD issue, stuck in low gear, sometimes in reverse, and still not fully funded. Shame on us for our short sided self serving ways. This is disrespecting our natural resourses and bad land stewardship. The Grantspass area got a black eye for bungling this issue, thanks alot Brady Adams.
