Default Location help?

Howdy,

I am looking for somewhere to take my two teenage daughters to catch some fish in the next couple of weeks.

I haven't had much luck getting them interested in fishing, but I was hoping to find someplace to take them where at least some action is pretty much guaranteed.

I don't currently own a boat, so we would be banking it. We live in Canby, so something within an hour or so of the Portland area would be great.

Any help would be much appreciated, and pm's are also welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Detroit has been good lately and getting pretty well stocked. On the way up to the kokanee class a few weeks ago I watched a guy killing them with bobber set 7-9 feet above a couple of split shots with worm or green power bait.

I would assume all the regular bank spots would work. (Just watch for cars parked along the road.)

Hagg lake might be o.k. but I haven't gone that way yet this year.

I would look at this web site and follow the fish truck. If you find a good trick on getting the girls into fishing let me know what it is, I couldn’t get my girls in a boat unless it was a good day to catch a TAN. Good luck and Fish on!

Hey,
I have 3 daughters 9, 11 & 13. The all LOVE to fish..so much so they actually asked for fishing rods for Christmas (which they all got, pink and black ugly sticks, slightly individualized). Anyway, my 13 yr old can hang with the best of them for steelhead/salmon she understands we don't always catch but is hooked on the days we do and the blood pumping excitement that comes with it. The other 2 like to catch (Period). Hagg Lake right has been rockin. We've had mulitiple limits the last week and as recent as yesterday. 10-12 inch trout are the norm, with a few 14-16 incher thrown in.

I, like you, have no boat so we bank fish. If you're interested on the where & what to use I'd be happy to help. Send me a PM
John

Unless your daughters are over 17, I would take them to the Canby Pond. The action is pretty good!
