Default The ocean giveth!!!

Girlfriend Nancy and I spent the weekend at Geribaldi going after bottom fiosh at Three Arch Rocks. Saturday morning we found a drift line nearto the rocks that produced at every pass...black sea bass and some really big ones. We explored some other and deeper areas, but found by far the best spot was about 150 yds directly west of the southern most rocks. Every short pass brought at least one fish on every line, usually two, sometimes three. Shrimp flies was the ticket, with a very strong preferance for the pink ones.
The ocean was a bit choppy on Saturday, but really gorgeous today; I was able to run my 18' runabout at full speed with minimal aerobatics.

Today, we were joined by Threesmuch, Pilar, and Puffin for a four boat floatilla, the first ocean journey for the newly formed Saltwater Parsish. Everyone caught fish. My boat limited out around noon and we departed just as Puffin had found the Lings...about a mile south on the flats. It sounded like most of them were pretty small based on our VHS conversations, but I'll wager someone got a real big ugly one after we left

Final Score for the weekend aboard Adriana:
Black Sea bass: 38
Green LIngs: 1
Cabizon: 1
Dugeoness: 8 (one day only)

Angle this, Fantastic day! I was at the same location in the blue 21 ft. fiber form ( friends boat). I think you were fishing just west of us. Caught are limit of 30 sea bass in 1 1/2 hours ( 2 undersize ling). 19 nice crabs on the first pull (3 pots). Can't wait to get back out.

Angle this. Why did you stop 2 fish short of a limit? Just curious. Sounds like good fishin for those with the means to get out there.

We didn't stop sort, in fact we threw back at least a dozen bass that weren'tt real hefty, along with a barely legal green ling and some pretty wrase more suitable for an acquarium than the dinner table... its a good karma thing...now the reef owes me one twice as big

Yes I remember you. You and that little outboard were the other two boats working the area. I was suprised at how prolific the bass were to the exclusion of all the other rock fish. Where are the yellow eye and the reds and such?
