Default Prawn Rig --- Halp!

I know that ****** and others have posted detailed directions recently on how to rig a prawn. No need to do that again. But does anybody have a simple graphic or photo that shows how the spinner wire lays on the rig? I may be dyslexic, but I read and re-read the directions and just don't understand.

I've never used prawns before, and wouldn't bother except that the prawn-fishermen kicked our butts last year at the mouth of the Lewis for steelhead. Time for this old man to get with it!

I have no graphics, but I'll try an easy explanation of one of the ways I do it.

After you thread on the prawn, the very next thing you thread on your leader is the spinner wire with the top bent over. Stick the leader through the bent over eye of the wire and slide it down to the prawn. Straighten the prawn with one hand, then just insert the wire into the meat of the prawn following the leader towards the hook. Leave the bent over eye just above the tail of the prawn for a good support for your corky, beads, etc....

The wire doesn't have to be threaded on the leader, but I prefer it that way even though it takes a little longer to hook up.

I hope this helps.

I believe that I am slowly getting it. Forty years of alcohol takes its toll.

Hey Jack,

If you need any further clarification. I'd be up to giving you a free in boat demonstration if you'd like? You know how to reach me if you do.
