Maybe a line poll? Flourocarbons, monofilament, micro-braids, standard braids, hi-vis, brands, etc...who uses what?
A knot poll? Most used knot while fishing like cinch, blood, etc.?

How about favorite fish/technique.
Springers ... Backbounce, Plunk, Troll, ...
Steelhead ... Drift fish, Bobber & Jig, Plugs, ...
Salmon ... Mooch, Bobber, Kwikfish, ...
or something like that.

How about a poll for... the absolute worst "insert item here".
You could say fishing tackle, gear, boats, motors, whatever.
Might be fun, and informative.

How about one relating to the growing trend of fishing derbies. I'm curious and it may be of some help to those putting on these events.
Do you think derbies are a good idea?
Why?
Fun?
Competetive?
Prizes?
Opportunity to learn about a fishery?
Proceeds go to a good cause?
Does it matter to you where the proceeds go?
Non-profit - fishing related (NWS, NSIA, etc.)?
Non-profit anything?
For profit?
In your opinion, is it acceptable for all species to be targets?
If not, which do you think should not be included?
Steelhead?
Wild?
Hatchery?
Chinook?
Spring?
Fall?
Coho?
Sturgeon?
Warm water species?
Does it matter to you who the sponsors are?
Tobacco?
Spirits (including beer and wine)?
Boats?
Motors?
Totally non-profit?
Have you personally participated in a derby in the last 5 years?
Will you again?
Just an idea.

I am working on chromers. Not because the others aren't interesting, but because it was laid out nicely, and easy for me to copy and paste.
Doing polls is an art form!
It's not as easy as it looks!
If anyone is an expert on this, I'd gladly hand over the job and let you take over!
You have to always add an option, if the question doesn't pertain to you... like n/a or... You know!
Anyway, I'm working on the derby one. With some help from Pete, it will be out soon.

Do you think Derbies are a good idea? That is a loaded question in its self. I know where chromer is trying to go, I would just like to be able to refine that question a bit. Yes, I like Derbies in general, but some I don't. How do we as potential responders to the poll deciapher between the two? Real Derbies that raise money for good causes and others that are a bit cloudy in their cause. I don't want to discourage the possiblity to get some really good information like chromer wants to gain, but can we go deeper? just my two cents........RW
