Default Newport bay bottom fishing?

i have never bottom fished newport bay but
was wondering if their is any thing to catch
this time of year like lings, or rock fish?

and is thier any herring left in the bay ?
and where do you go in the bay to get the herring?
what is the best set up for geting hearing?

Do a search on herring, there's been a ton of talk lately about both those subjects.

there seems always fish to catch in Yaquina Bay somewhere. Try working jetties now for rock cod,perch,kelp greenling, and maybe lings. Be careful, the best fishing is in drop offs near rocks. watch for waves and current. check other topics and search for herring setups. the last two weekends about anything worked.
